Screen queen, Grace Kelly, is being honored this month by TCM (Turner Classic Movies). Not that there needs to be a special occasion to celebrate this leading lady, but this November is actually an important anniversary for her.
“This November, in honor of what would have been the actress’ 80th birthday, Turner Classic Movies will celebrate her life and work by presenting all of her feature films, as well as a television special. TCM host and film historian Robert Osborne will guide viewers through her fascinating career and outstanding performances each Thursday night in November.”
My favorite Grace Kelly films include High Society (so much fun singing – and Frank Sinatra & Bing Crosby!), To Catch a Thief (romantic and suspenseful, with amazing costumes), and Rear Window (if you haven’t ever seen this film, it’s a must). I’ve seen some of her other movies like The Swan (meh), but I definitely want to catch up on the others. Right now Dial M for Murder is on Netflix Watch Instantly (um, I was watching Kate & Leopold on it last night, shhh). Films you’ll get to see on TCM this November include:
The Country Girl ( Grace Kelly won an Oscar for this movie. Also the quote: “The last time we talked, Mr. Dodd, you reduced me to tears. I promise you, it won’t happen again,” you probably will recognize as being in the Mika song Grace Kelly), Dial M for Murder, High Noon, Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, High Society, and The Swan (Probably my least favorite Kelly movie, even though she plays a princess).
